Subarban West Walking the Walk Network Visits Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship
The Suburban West Walking the Walk Network gathered at the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship on December 4 for their fifth session of the year. The session focused on the shared value of hospitality within each of the faiths in this network by reading stories concerning hospitality from the Baha’i, Jewish, Muslim and Christian faith traditions. Then, they created skits that reenacted these stories in 'today’s world'. In the photo, a small group performs a skit about the good Samaritan story from the Christian faith.

Philly United on 9/11
A coalition of leaders from the Philadelphia Mayor’s Office, the National Constitution Center, the Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia, the Interfaith Center of Greater Philadelphia and other community groups is spearheading a local commemoration of the tenth anniversary of 9/11. The coalition’s overarching mission is to foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and dignity across lines of religious, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity on this solemn occasion. In addition to planning two major 9/11 events, the group has jointly developed a unifying pledge that will be disseminated to the public through a variety of formats. The goal is to encourage citizens from all walks of life – from prominent Philadelphians to elementary school students – to share their signatures, hopes, prayers and commitments.
For information on 9/11 events, and to sign the pledge visit http://phillyuniteson911.org/.

Intern Shares Impression of 'Walking the Walk Goes Global'
To many of these students, coming from communities dominated by their own religion, the idea of pluralism was a completely novel idea. For some, it was truly foreign—both figuratively and literally. Nevertheless, these incredibly intelligent students embraced the Interfaith Center’s lessons passionately and almost automatically. Despite our racial, ethnic, religious, and national differences, we all seemed to agree on one common idea—the importance for universal respect and acceptance among our diverse world.
