“As an over night host with NPHIN, I got the really see real families who are homeless and share their lives for a couple of days, so I cannot avoid they reality of homelessness in the country. The “Just Neighbors” series was a very practical way in show one way that individuals and families quickly fall into poverty-it made it more tangible-or closer to me.”
“The Purim service was different than any other worship service I have attended. It was intriguing to attend a religious service that celebrates the idea of chance, not a service in honor of a higher being.”
“Just as being a listener…some people openly spoke about misconceptions of “street people,” some shared stories, some just needed to tell jokes, and all needed to be heard.”

From Our Participants
We came to help “the homeless”---
You have your own life story.
We came to learn about ourselves---
You ask us who we are.
We came to eat and drink through Philadelphia---
You are grateful for day-old bread and city water.
We will leave this vacation,
You will keep living your life.
